Lángos with Sour Cream and Grated Cheese
We visited the Saturday Fresh Market at the Brisbane Markets recently, after a very long time away. I had forgotten how much I loved those markets. They are so fresh and vibrant and there is so much to see and smell and taste.
We wandered past a stall selling traditional Hungarian lángos. Lángos are a deep fried flat bread and it's also a popular fast food, apparently. We had ours smothered in loads of parmesan cheese and a drizzle of sour cream and we can definately see the appeal.
The flat bread was not at all greasy and it was nice and crispy around the edges. Toward the middle, the sheer volume of cheese made the lángos far too rich to eat. We were very happy eating around the edges though. Next time, we will try it with no cheese or sour cream, just a little bit of garlic. It was lovely.
