Easter Shenanigans

One of our Easter traditions is our late-night trip to Tom’s Confectionary Warehouse during their 24-hour trade leading up to Easter Sunday.  We like to mix up the days and times when we visit just to see how many people go shopping for sweets at like 11pm on a Sunday night.

It’s always lots.

This time we visited early on in their trade so the shelves were full of all sorts of goodies!

I really want to try this.  I love peanut butter.  I find myself looking at it longingly whenever I see it. IMG_0604 IMG_0605 IMG_0606 IMG_0607 IMG_0608 IMG_0609

On Easter Sunday we ventured out for a little drive.  We were wandering down past a Brumby’s bakery where they were churning out fresh hot cross buns by the pallet, set up outside the store.  Unfortunately, we missed a batch and were told that there was about a ten minute wait for the next lot to come out the oven.

We weren’t the only ones waiting.  I mean, how could you pass up freshly made, hot from the oven hot cross buns on Easter Sunday?

When the buns came out of the oven, you had to be quick.  They were selling as fast as they could bring them out!

We snagged six chocolate hot cross buns because I have a passionate distaste for all things sultana and currenty.  They smelled incredible.  It was such a lovely treat on a special day.
